My journey through Petra started like many others, mesmerized by the Treasury. But the real magic began when I ventured beyond. The Siq, though crowded near the entrance, thinned as I walked further. The climb to the Monastery (Ad Deir) tested my endurance, but the reward was a view that stole my breath away. Exploring the High Place of Sacrifice, with its panoramic vistas, felt like stepping back in time. I met local Bedouins who shared stories passed down through generations, offering a glimpse into their rich culture and connection to this ancient city. The ever-present desert sun beat down, but a refreshing breeze often swept through the canyons.
